O-1 Visa: Extraordinary Ability

For individuals who have risen to the very top of their field. No cap, no lottery — just your extraordinary track record.

Who Qualifies for the O-1?

The O-1 visa is for individuals with extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or who have a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry. You don't need a Nobel Prize. You need sustained national or international acclaim — and I've successfully argued O-1 cases for startup founders, research scientists, journalists, athletes, and artists.

Evidence Categories (3 of 8 Required)

• Receipt of nationally or internationally recognized prizes or awards • Membership in associations requiring outstanding achievement • Published material about you in professional or major publications • Judging the work of others in your field • Original contributions of major significance • Authorship of scholarly articles in professional journals • Employment in a critical or essential capacity at distinguished organizations • Commanding a high salary relative to others in the field

The O-1 Advantage

Unlike the H-1B, the O-1 has no annual cap — meaning no lottery. It can be filed at any time of year and is often a stronger option for founders, executives, and creative professionals. I specialize in building O-1 petitions that tell a compelling narrative. Each evidence category is supported with a detailed argument that connects your achievements directly to USCIS criteria.

My Approach

1. Portfolio Audit — I review your CV, publications, awards, and press coverage 2. Gap Analysis — I identify which evidence categories are strongest and where we need to bolster 3. Advisory Opinion — I secure expert letters and peer endorsements 4. Narrative Construction — I craft a legal brief that makes your extraordinary story undeniable 5. Filing & Advocacy — I submit and respond to any USCIS inquiries with surgical precision
